6 Businesses That Should Incorporate Cannabis

When many of us think of working in the cannabis industry, our minds immediately tend to go to dispensaries and grow operations. The cannabis industry can touch many of our usual day to day business too with success. With hemp and CBD products being introduced into many of our normal day products such as skin care, food, pain relief, clothing and more, there is a way for many businesses to jump on board. Want to get in on the green rush happening across the U.S., but you don’t want to grow or sell marijuana?

Here are six ways you can join in the cannabis industry while in your current business;

Bed & Breakfast

If you’re in a recreational state, joining the cannabis industry via setting or adding to your current bed & breakfast to make it 420 friendly is an option for a new demographic of tourism.  Becoming a cannabis-friendly lodging source can be a small change as simple as letting guests aged 21 and older can puff or vape cannabis products or nibble on THC-infused edibles from their legally-sourced stashes, in living and dining rooms and patios.

Check out your local laws for cannabis friendly businesses to see what you need to do to convert your current lodging to marijuana-friendly or create new lodging choices for cannabis tourist.

Restaurants

The perfect pair, food, and marijuana. One way to marry these two together is adding cannabis-infused food items like butter and syrup. Luckily for a marijuana-friendly chef, the possibility for marijuana-filled entrées is limitless.

Cannabis-Themed Bike Tours

It happens that the states with recreational marijuana legalized, also happen to be states known for outdoor activities such as touring the city on bikes. Cannabis tourism is a robust demographic of the booming wider tourism industry. With marijuana legalization and use on the rise throughout the U.S., more and more marijuana-themed bicycle tours are winding their way through places where it is legal.

Build a tour of local dispensaries, have informal learning sessions at each stop, show off locally grown strains and visit headshops and other cannabis-related businesses. For outdoorsy types who enjoy biking and cannabis-counterculture, leading marijuana-themed bike tours can be a fun, and active way to exercise.

Cannabis Industry Consulting Services

Are you already working as a business consultant and you’re well versed in the local, state, and national laws around cannabis businesses? Take that knowledge and start working with other businesses that are looking for opportunities in the industry.

Look at starting a consulting firm that helps commercial cannabis cultivation startups with everything from design and build-out, branding and marketing, to regulatory compliance and beyond. Helping people convert their business to the regulated cannabis market is where human capital is needed and being a consultant for businesses is a steadily rising career choice.

Commercial Interior Designer

With the wide variety of dispensaries already open for business, now, more than ever, are new dispensaries looking to stand out from their competition. The first area of improvement on a dispensary space is interior design. Just as Steve Jobs even took a design roll in Apple Stores, you can showcase your interior design skills in the dispensary space.

As many dispensaries are coming to life with a goal to have an upscale retail space, you can step in and create eloquent spaces that focus on promoting a positive image of what a dispensary can look like from outside to inside. Gone are the back-alley dispensaries with bulletproof glass, bars on windows and dark, dank spaces, often with no thought process behind their aesthetic. Many owners are looking to create spaces that represent who they are and what they believe in.

Spas

As more CBD and hemp-infused skincare and topicals are coming onto the market, it is now more likely you can find a spa that carries cannabis friendly products. Looking for a cannabis oil massage after a long day? That can be an option at the right spa. Hemp-infused lotion after a sauna session from a brand like Canabliss Organic can be a great way to start a weekend or prepare for an upcoming event such as a wedding.

Other businesses can open their doors to the cannabis industry, and we’ll keep an eye out for more ways the mainstream business world is becoming a champion of the cannabis industry. There are a ton of businesses that should incorporate marijuana. We just wanted to start with six. If you have more ideas of how you are considering marrying cannabis into your current business model, we can lead you through the “how to” of that choice from website development, understanding advertising side of the cannabis industry and getting the word out about your business through digital marketing.
