Now more than ever before, a growing number of Americans are using the mighty dollar as a way to make a difference in the fight against racial inequality – and that includes within the cannabis community.
Even as the cannabis industry expands with record-breaking speed, the clear inequities are impossible to ignore. According to a 2020 article from NBC News, less than one-fifth of the people who were owners or stakeholders in a cannabis business were people of color. The article cited a 2017 survey that found that Black entrepreneurs made up just 4.3 percent of all cannabis business leaders.
If you’re feeling inspired to become a more conscious cannabis consumer, making an effort to support Black-owned cannabis businesses is an outstanding start. We’ve rounded up 50 of our favorites to give you a head start – so get ready to discover a broad range of brands and businesses that you’re going to love.
